Celebrating the benefits of playing outside.

Using funds from the Colorado Lottery, Great Outdoors Colorado has created some of the most amazing parks and trails in the world. The only problem was that today’s children play outdoors less than any other generation. So we created Generation Wild, a campaign with the goal to change that. Playing on a sense of nostalgia for the childhood experiences of Colorado parents, the campaign reminds them of how amazing the outdoors is and gives them ways to share it with their children.

The Website

Generation Wild Website

The Generation Wild website provides parents with information about the benefits of playing outdoors and includes tips, scientific studies and activities for their kids. It also houses a list of 100 Things to do Before You’re 12 that has served as a basis for out-of-home, social media and video advertisements.

Showcasing how fun the outdoors can be.

The Sukle team used outdoor advertising like billboards, bus shelters and even a custom made fort installation to spread the word about the joys of playing outdoors. Kids could even check a few items off of the 100 Things List while visiting these installations.

An Ambassador for the outdoors.

Meet Wilder, Generation Wild’s official mascot for playing outdoors. He starred in a short film and can be found appearing across Colorado to promote outdoor play. He has been a huge hit with children and parents alike.

In a survey of 400 Colorado moms, nearly 40% reported that Generation Wild encouraged them to try outdoor activities that they may not have done otherwise.
