Mile High Youth Corps
Mile High Youth Corps

Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC) is a Colorado based non-profit organization that employs young people from around the state to improve local trails, communities and businesses. They build and maintain trails throughout Colorado, install high efficiency light bulbs, toilets and fixtures in low-income communities and businesses and even build energy efficient homes. They are unique as a non-profit in that not only do they employ the youth of Colorado, giving them life experience and a sense of accomplishment, but they also improve the community around them as well.

MHYC is a project that I had the opportunity to work on through my internship with Sukle Advertising and Design. They approached Sukle to help them with a campaign that would help promote what they do as an organization to potential investors. Unfortunately, their budget was not big enough to be supported by an agency. The folks at Sukle didn't want to turn such a great organization away, so they turned to Metro State to help out with the design and concept for this project, in a way mimicking what MHYC does, proving young people with experience in their field.
